Release notes - known issues, changes since last release

  • Version 2.1.0 is a minor release of Dwarfguard, adding features on Dwarfguard 2.0
  • Version 2.1.0 supports following Debian GNU/Linux versions:
    • Debian GNU/Linux 13 - recommended for all new installs as the support for Debian GNU/Linux 12 may be dropped during the 2.x version line.
    • Debian GNU/Linux 12 - support kept because of upgrades from oldstable versions (1.0.x). You will be able to upgrade the OS to version 13 later on, introducing a short Dwarfguard service downtime during OS upgrade and reboot. Instructions will be provided in a standalone post.
  • 2.1.0 supports full upgrade from:
    • 2.0.2 Keeper Patch 2
  • Dwarfguard Version 2.1.0 brings a new product "Dwarfguard EU" in BETA variant. In future, Dwarfguard EU will be available on the European Union market and generally, while the original "Dwarfguard" product will not be distributed on the EU market any longer. The "Dwarfguard EU" product is a spin-off of Dwarfguard that aims to be fully CRA-compatible. The product will have different pricing. During 2027, an in-place replacement upgrade from Dwarfguard 2.x to "Dwarfguard EU" 2.x+1 will be offered to all customers residing on EU market.
  • Next to considerable number of new features, Dwarfguard 2.1 brings substantial improvement in performance scaling configuration, namely removing a potential performance limitation for the high number of web users. That said, the out-of-the-box configuration stays the same. If you have many web users, contact your server admin to perform appropriate configuration to allow for high number of web users without the need of increasing the number of universal threads too much.
